Authentic Faith Is Critical in Today’s Counterfeit Culture

“I’ve been rejected a ton by the church, and I’ve been massively hurt. I was labeled as the oddball or the weirdo.” Continuing the post-traumatic church disorder series, Jake Hamilton shares his heart and keys to living an authentic life with God in today’s counterfeit culture.

“In church culture, we need to give people the space to allow people who show up as they really are. The church isn’t supposed to be a show, and we don’t want people to be the ‘Christian’ version of themselves. We need to let people be who they really are and not feel pressured to be the acceptable version of themselves in church settings. We need to show people that it’s okay to mourn, and process loss, pain and brokenness.”

The entire planet is crying out to be embraced by the Father. He wants to love us until it sinks in that we aren’t too broken to be loved.

One key to living a more authentic life is surrounding yourself with real friends and family who can call you out. These people will help call out the gold in you to become the fullness of who God has called you to be.
