Today, experts in the field have been sounding the alarm, warning of the dark side of artificial intelligence. We know AI can be used for both good and evil, but let’s think about the people in power who direct the creation and programming of AI. Are these godly individuals with a moral compass and biblical worldview? Have they shown us responsible, wise decision making that assures us of their good and decent influence on AI? So many Hollywood movies have portrayed the dangers of AI, the goal always pointing at the control or destruction of humanity. Are these plotlines just fantasy or something more?
When the people in power have vast amounts of money and control many of our resources, there is an imbalance in society. If these men and women possess an ungodly or evil mindset, motivated by greed or any other self-serving purpose, how will their decisions truly impact the people?
We can see through a quick search of the internet that business analytics companies provide stats on how fast knowledge has doubled in the last century. In 1900, human knowledge doubled approximately every 100 years. By 1945, the rate was every 25 years. In 2013, they said it was doubling every 13 months. According to IBM, the build-out of the Internet of Things will lead to the doubling of knowledge every 12 hours!
Many people view science and technology as their god. Trans-humanists want to create a hybrid—blending humans and AI. It’s interesting that in the Bible, Genesis 6 actually speaks about a hybrid race. Fallen angels left their angelic nature and had physical relations with women, which produced giants on the earth. There was a hybrid race back then: fallen angels and women. The Bible speaks of this race both before and after the flood. Jesus said in Matthew 24:37 (NKJV), “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Does this information give us a hint of a hybrid race during this time?
The Bible describes a man possessed by Satan, an extremely evil one-world leader, who will rise to power. This Antichrist is described in Revelation 13:7, “It was granted to him to make war with the saints [again those saved during the Tribulation] and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue and nation.” Many Bible teachers speculate the Antichrist will provide a global solution to unite the world during a time of great crisis.
We know from Scripture that there are two men, or wicked world leaders: the Antichrist and the false prophet. The false prophet will be like a religious world leader working alongside the first beast. There is an interesting passage in Revelation 13:14-15. It says, “And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.”
Did you catch that? He was granted power to “give breath” to the image. It will speak and cause many to be killed who won’t worship it. It will appear to be alive and all-powerful. Does this sound like a possible creation of AI? How will it kill those who refuse to worship it? Perhaps it will enact a complete loss of personal freedoms and take control using surveillance, drones and other forms of monitoring. This may sound far-fetched, but with the technology that exists today, it is already possible.
According to an article on the website Techrepublic, “Generative AI focuses on creating new content or ideas based on existing data. It’s used to generate outputs that resemble human created content, be it text, images, graphics, music computer code or otherwise.”
Search engines shape our thinking, choices and behavior through targeted marketing, censored information and an anti-biblical worldview. Add AI to that mix. Do you recall how quickly most people were controlled through fear in the year 2020? This may have been a trial run to see how effectively information could be channeled to the public, causing a universal panic and shutdown. Be awake and aware when more crises come upon the world.
God told Christians to discern the times and seasons. Isaiah 60:1-3 reads, “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light.”
As darkness and evil increase, Christians will be called to move forward in courage and obedience, sharing God’s Word to help people find salvation through Jesus Christ. People will become more open to seeking God as they witness the shaking on the earth.
In Luke 21:28, Jesus said, “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
He also said in John 14:1-3, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
