Serve the Lord Under the Good Influence of the Holy Spirit

It is good for the boat to be in the water, but not good for water to be in the boat! When the boat is in the water, we can sail right through. When water is in the boat, we sink and drown.

If we are not influenced by the Holy Spirit, we will be influenced by sensual, earthly or demonic spirits. If we are influenced every moment by the Holy Spirit, He will move us in the direction God has set for our life.

God has appointed us to build His kingdom as servants of God for the fivefold ministry. We see the meaning of the kingdom of God. Paul said, “For the kingdom of God does not mean eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Rom. 14:17). We as servants of God are called to build His kingdom. This means we must lead the people around us toward the peace, joy, and righteousness of God. If we ourselves are struggling, how can we impact and expand God’s kingdom?

Our Lord Jesus Christ shared one of the principles of the kingdom in Matthew 13:33: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast which a woman took and mixed in sixty pounds of meal until it had leavened the whole batch.” Leaven is minute, but the lump is big. When the lump is leaven, three things will happen: The loaf will expand, it will rise up, and the leaven will make the dough lighter.

If anything is stagnant, there is no room for it in the heart of God. God wants to expand and grow you. You may feel small and insignificant, but when you are influenced by the Holy Spirit, God will use you like leaven to impact His kingdom!
