This is a follow up report to the urgent prayer requests that we made for Egypt. I have been receiving numerous reports from our friends and prayer generals in the Arabic speaking world. It is hard at times to thread what we seen through the lens of truth–only the Holy Spirit can help us to do that.

This report will contain some information that has come to us from various sources as well as prayer points that have been sent our way. I am combining this email report with the latest “tipping-point” prophetic insight.

For those of you who have read the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders Word of the Lord for 2011, it would be good to combine this report with the 2011 word.

You may have heard that a committee of Egyptian experts are in a 10-day assignment to propose constitutional amendments and various members are either Muslim Brotherhood or have strong leanings in that direction. They, of course, would be for an even stronger manifestation of an Islamic State as Article 2 of Part I, The State, reads, “Islam is the Religion of the State. Arabic is its official language, and the principal source of legislation is Islamic Jurisprudence (Sharia).” Secularists, along with some Coptic Christians–who make up a tenth of the population, are calling for the scrapping of Article 2.

Recently there was an Internet vote on how many Egyptians would like to see Egypt be an Islamic State. The results of the survey were 76 percent of those voting wanted to keep Article 2 as a new constitution is being written. There are other statistics that say that up to 86 percent of the population wants an Islamic State. This doesn’t necessarily mean Sharia law under cleric rule as in Iran, but it could lead to it. At any rate, it would not be western democracy as we know it.

Click here to watch the video of a February 18th rally of over a million Egyptians in Tahrir Square in which the exiled cleric, Youssef Al-Qaradawi, who is with the Muslim Brotherhood, and had been banned from the country by Mubarak, challenged the Egyptian youth to continue the revolution and demanded that the Egyptian army open the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza so that the “brothers in Palestine” can accomplish the complete victory and allow Al-Qaradhawi to safely enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Egypt, under Mubarak, controlled the crossing because of their belief that a pliable border would strengthen Hamas’ radicalism and undermine Egyptian security, which had happened in recent years with a string of terrorist attacks against tourist locations. Click here to read the text of the speech so you can see that he is no friend of Israel.

Along with the issue of the Rafah border crossing, there are reports of Egypt having allowed, for the first time since 1979, Iranian warships to pass through the Suez Canal on February 21, bound for Syria. Relying on unnamed Israeli military sources, the Israeli newspaper, Ma’ariv, has reported that a weapons shipment has been stashed on the two Iranian warships intended for the militant Islamic group Hezbollah. The source indicated that rockets of various ranges, rifles and ammunition were on board.

This report is disturbing as it also mentions that less than two years ago, Israel discovered 500 tons of weapons hidden in an Iranian shipment on a German freighter bound for Syria. It’s not surprising that Israel’s foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, described Iran’s current action as a provocation. In a February 24 Associated Press article from Damascus, it is reported that some analysts said the voyage “signals that Iran is ready to come to the aid of regional allies, including Syria and Iranian proxies Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.”

There is an interesting February 20 article (click here to read article) from William Jacobson, of Cornell Law School, entitled, “The Yuppie Revolution in Egypt is Over, The Islamic Revolution has Begun.” The article claims that Google employee Wael Ghonim, who used Facebook to help engineer the Egyptian revolution, was angered at being barred from taking the stage at the million man rally of the 84 year old Muslim cleric, Al-Qaradawi, in Tahrir Sq. in Cairo.

We must pray. There is no natural answer to this situation because of what I see as a void of leadership to allow Egypt to become a true democracy.

That is why we are at the “tipping point” in Egypt and the whole region. We must remember that God is the same God who demolished Pharaoh’s kingdom of old. We do not have the strategies in our natural mind, but God is able to tip the scale in Egypt that will lead to a massive spiritual awakening all across the Middle East.

Here are some suggested prayer points:

Unity in families and in the Body of Christ: Pray that God will bring supernatural unity to the Body of Christ in Egypt. There are reports of “households against households” and “brothers against brothers” at the moment. Bind Satan’s power from putting schisms between families as well as the churches.

Fasting and Prayer: Intercede for massive fasting and prayer to break out across the region and the world.

Leadership Vacuum: Pray that God will raise up a Cyrus who will establish true democratic reform and government.

The Constitutional Amendment Process: At the moment, a committee of six persons will propose constitutional amendments. All are Muslims and one of them is from the Muslim Brotherhood as far as I can tell from prayer requests coming out of the region.

The New Government: The current government will only be working for a short time, then the army is going to form a new government that will serve until election time in September/October. Pray that the choices will be God’s choices.

The New President: Pray that God will have his candidate in the line-up and that this person will win.

Secret Agendas to Come to Light: Ask God to bring to light any hidden agendas by the Muslim Brotherhood. Even though they are saying they are not running a candidate at this time, there is some thinking that they will run a candidate and “hide” behind him.

The Region: Pray there will be no regional wars that will explode on a world-wide scale. Pray that Egypt will maintain their treaty with Israel.

Speak Blessings Over Egypt as in Isaiah 19:25: “Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of My Hands, and Israel My Inheritance.”
