It’s Up to Spirit-Filled Christians to Bind Demons Infesting America’s Politics

I’m excited for Charisma‘s upcoming November issue. I wrote the cover story, titled “The Spiritual Struggle for the Soul of America.” I write about what’s happening in America and encourage Christians to win the battle for the soul of our country in the spiritual realm.

Today’s culture wars are no surprise. The battle between good and evil has been going on for all of human history, although it seems to have escalated in recent years. As I’ve written before in my Strang Report newsletter and in my new book, Trump Aftershock, this isn’t just a battle between the left and the right. In fact, we’re not wrestling against flesh and blood at all. The Word of God says we’re fighting against “principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12).

But you never hear that in the media today, unless you’re listening to Christian sources like Charisma. Yet whether secular politicians and pundits acknowledge it or not, this is a spiritual war.

So what does that mean for us? It means we have to take our spiritual responsibility seriously. We have been given power—not of ourselves but through the Holy Spirit—to pull down satanic strongholds.

Now, if you go to a Spirit-filled church like I do, you’ve probably heard of or perhaps even experienced deliverance ministry. You may be familiar with prayers for victory over the attacks of the enemy or intercession to break strongholds in people’s lives. For example, I know people who have received prayer to be delivered from evil spirits, such as the spirit of nicotine, alcoholism or sex addiction.

Addictions are serious problems, but I’ve heard it said that those demons are easier to deal with. The more difficult spiritual battle is against the spirits that inhabit the culture, the atmosphere, the media and academia. All you have to do is turn on the television to hear filthy language and anti-God propaganda. This is the real battle in our country, and it’s manifesting itself politically between left and right.

Now, please understand that this doesn’t mean all leftists are bad people—of course they aren’t! Nevertheless, there are certain kinds of people who are drawn to those ideas, and if you’re a firm Bible-believing Christian, you can’t go along with many of the values on the left. The pro-abortion agenda and the attacks on traditional marriage, for example, strike at the heart of what Christians believe about biblical morality.

Because of this, the Republican Party—which is by no means perfect—has become a kind of repository for those who want something more conservative. Many long for the days when people read the Bible publicly without any issue. In fact, I recently received several McGuffey’s Readers that belonged to my great-grandfather, who was born in 1854. These are the schoolbooks he used—and they all used Scripture!

To me, it’s amazing that we have gone from using the Word to teach children all the way to the 1963 Supreme Court ruling that prayer and Bible reading are unconstitutional because of the separation of church and state. Now, high-school coaches can’t even kneel to pray after a football game.

I talk about this more in my book, Trump Aftershock, which I hope you will read. We just received copies of the book in the office this week, and I’m thrilled with the way it has turned out. You can order your own copy on trumpaftershock.com. And if you order the book before the release date, Nov. 6, we’ll give you several extra items, including a free subscription to Charisma. Just copy your order code and fill out the form on the bottom of trumpaftershock.com‘s home page.

I think you’ll enjoy the book as well as our November issue of Charisma, where I go into more detail about the spiritual struggle in our nation. I write about John Kilpatrick’s viral prophetic word about the spirit of Jezebel rising up against Trump. That word began to come to fruition only two days later, when Paul Manafort was found guilty of several charges, and Michael Cohen accepted a plea bargain. And not only that, but witches have unashamedly held events to cast spells and hexes on Donald Trump and Brett Kavanaugh.

The warfare continues to grow more intense. I believe unbelievers are incapable of binding these spirits, and liberal Christians won’t do it, so it’s up to those who are empowered by the Spirit of God to stand in the gap for this nation.

One of the most important ways you can stand in the gap is to go and vote on Nov. 6. Even my 90-year-old mother is going to vote, and since I’ll be out of town doing media interviews on that day, I plan to vote early. I encourage you to talk to people and ask them if they’re going to vote. If they say no, challenge them to do so and perhaps even offer to drive them to the polls if need be.

We have the spiritual authority and power to make a difference in our nation, so let’s choose to stand in the gap. Listen to my podcast below and share it with a friend to encourage them to intercede for America!
