Not too long ago, I shared with you the incredible story behind the “Thank You Jesus” yard sign movement, led by Connie Frazier. I call it a movement because this grass-roots endeavor is inspiring thousands of people to give Jesus the credit and glory He deserves.

In my previous podcast with Frazier, we talked about how this fascinating movement got started. Today, I want to dive deeper into the impact it’s making on denominations and entire churches that are getting involved.

The movement started out as an Easter project at Frazier’s rural church in North Carolina. A teenage boy had the desire to do something for Jesus, so Frazier helped him create “Thank You Jesus” yard signs that people could put up near their homes. Frazier and her team started selling the signs, not sure what would happen next.

From there, the movement exploded.

“As of right now, we’re up to around 173,000 yard signs that are out there,” Frazier tells me. “And how people have gotten involved is really by the Holy Spirit moving on their hearts.”

She says a lot of people order the signs on their smartphones, usually after driving past a home that has a “Thank You Jesus” sign in the yard.

The result has been incredible. So far, Frazier says their 501(c)3 has raised $200,000 in royalties from the sign sales. But neither Frazier nor the printers—who are also Spirit-focused Christians—are keeping the money for themselves.

Instead, they’re investing it back into the kingdom.

“Rural churches have really been having a hard time,” Frazier says. “We’re in a big urban church, and there’s more money and there’s more synergy, but in the small towns, the churches are having a hard time. So our focus is more on rural areas. We have funded several pastors conferences, we’ve done soup kitchens, crisis pregnancy centers. One of our more touching gifts was just $1,000 for a woman who goes into nursing homes and visits and prays with people.”

Frazier says they’ve been able to give away $100,000 so far, and they plan to give away another $30,000. She says they’re going to keep giving as the Lord keeps providing the means.

Another interesting thing about this movement is that it’s not comprised of merely one denomination or even one socioeconomic group. Instead, people from diverse Christian traditions and lifestyles are getting involved.

“We actually have ‘Gracias Jesús’ signs because we had several Hispanic churches call us up and say, ‘Hey we want it in our language too,'” Frazier says. “It’s been bipartisan. It’s been unifying because it gets us back to Jesus. And that’s where our focus is supposed to be—pulling together the body of Christ to do what He wants us to do to further His kingdom.”

I couldn’t agree more. Listen to my full interview with Frazier to learn how God is using this grass-roots movement to change thousands of lives for His glory—and how these simple signs are becoming an effective evangelistic tool. You can also learn more about the signs at thankyoujesussigns.com.
