Scripture affirms that God specializes in the unlikely. Through the ReAwaken America tours, He is using the unlikely combination of a national security expert, Gen. Mike Flynn, and an entrepreneur, Clay Clark, in powerful ways that will have lasting impact.
The tours, which began in April in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as the highly acclaimed Health and Freedom event, are now crisscrossing the country in locations as diverse as Tampa, Florida, and Anaheim, California, with upcoming dates in Grand Rapids, Michigan (Aug. 19-21); Colorado Springs, Colorado (Sept. 24-25); San Antonio, Texas (Nov. 11-13); and Dallas, Texas (Dec. 10-13).
Flynn, who says he originally planned the tour as a thank-you to the American people for standing by his family, says he and Clark decided to include much more.
“This is really about saving this country and saving America,” Flynn says. “This is no longer about making America great again—America has always been great. … What this is now about is saving our country from tyranny, dictatorship and communism as much as it is about saving and protecting our religious and health freedoms.”
Flynn says the ReAwaken America tours have a threefold purpose. The first has to do with election integrity. “We want to address election integrity, election security and the system that we have to vote and what we need to do in order to keep it, all in order for us to have the privilege of voting—that’s No. 1,” he says.
The second purpose of the tours, Flynn says, is to discuss COVID-19 and the health issues surrounding it. Each event will showcase numerous health experts who will address topics such as testing, vaccinations and the information individuals and families need to make wise choices regarding what Flynn calls “this COVID craziness that we’re having shoved down our throats.”
The ReAwaken America tours’ third primary purpose is to promote religious freedom through various speakers with national platforms in this area, including Charisma Media founder and CEO Stephen Strang, who will join the tour in Grand Rapids to address the topic of his upcoming book, God and Cancel Culture.
“God is being ripped out of the fabric of our Constitution; God is being ripped out of the fabric of certainly one part of our government,” Flynn says.
But the ReAwaken America tours are not partisan events, he adds. “In this country, it has nothing to do with party; it has everything to do with—what do we believe? Do we believe in liberty? Do we believe in what this country was founded upon? And do we have God and Christianity, the Judeo-Christian principles and values that this country was built upon?
The upcoming events are critical, Flynn says, because they will continue to highlight these issues and more. But there’s one thing he finds even more critical than the tour itself: local, personal involvement.
“If people don’t get involved in their local communities, we are not going to win this country back,” he says. “That’s how we’re going to win. “It’s not about complaining about Washington, D.C., … it’s actually getting up and getting involved and finding those individuals who you believe in who can best lead your communities and our country in the future. This is about leadership. This is about looking for those people, those patriots.”
