Prophetic Dream: God Is Establishing Covenant Promises in the Hebrew New Year

The Lord gave me a prophetic dream for Hebrew New Year 5780 concerning the decade of “Pey,” which is the Hebrew letter for the number 80, a symbol that has the appearance of a “mouth.”

Many prophets have been sharing that this will be the decade we must speak to move destiny and create change in the earth. In this dream, I was at the podium speaking. There were only a few people in the sanctuary, and they were working in the back. These were people who care for the church, and they were talking and taking out garbage. They represent the servants no one notices as they serve God humbly.

I threw the mic in their direction, and I remember thinking, Am I losing my mind? This mic costs thousands of dollars and now it will be broken. But when it hit the ground, it bounced, and then started bouncing off all the seats in the sanctuary that were empty.

As it bounced, the mic got bigger until it was so huge it was like a boulder. It turned the color red. It was a mic with the rock and fire of the Lord.

Then the Holy Spirit said to me loudly in the dream, “My word will not return void but accomplish the purposes for which I sent it” (see Isa. 55:11). I woke up and began to pray and realized it was God saying that when His voice goes out it will continue to grow with fire until it accomplishes that for which He sent it. This word will be carried even by my humble servants who go unnoticed by others but God notices them.

God had spoken to me a few weeks before that this would be the year He would establish covenant promises with His people in 5780. God establishes these promises with us because we are His children bought with the covenant blood of Jesus. When God’s word is spoken and released by us with faith, it will come to pass.

At the beginning of the Hebrew calendar, there are 10 days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the highest holy day of the year for the Jewish people. These are called the “days of awe.” This is a time where God is calling us to step into covenant promises by faith through repentance, restructuring our lives and also restarting old things so we can partner with Him for establishment of our covenant destiny.

When we talk about God establishing His promises with us, what does this mean? A covenant promise is one that God makes to us and makes to our heart. If God says, “I’m establishing covenant promises this year,” it means He is going to be setting things in your life in motion to establish covenant, and these are the promises that will be tested. These tests are coming against the Word He spoke to you, and you will need to rise in faith.

Once the Word of God goes out, the enemy comes to steal it (Matt. 13:19). So, when you enter into 5780, you have to enter in with the faith that this will be the year that God will establish His covenant promises with you, and that you will begin to start seeing changes for your future that will benefit the kingdom of God.

I want to share with you the story of one who knew and understood that, and that is King David. David was set apart and consecrated at a young age to be the king, but it was many years before he ever actually sat on the throne. He had to go through all those years believing that he was anointed with oil and set apart, and that a promise was made to him by God. God chose David for his heart and set him apart, but he was moved into a place where he had to remain quiet until the day that he was called to step forward.

You know what day that was? That day was when he faced Goliath. So, the day David was promoted was the day he had to enter a battle and operate in faith to kill the giant.

When God says He’s going to establish covenant with you, you will face Goliath. In 1 Samuel 17:34-37, David says to Saul, “‘Your servant was a shepherd for my father’s flock, and the lion came and the bear, and took a lamb out of the flock. And I went out after him, and struck him, and delivered it out of his mouth. And when he arose against me, I took hold of his beard, struck him, and killed him. Your servant slew both the lion and the bear. And this uncircumcised Philistine will be as one of them, because he has reviled the armies of the living God.’ David said, ‘The Lord who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.'”

If God says He is going to establish you this year in the covenant promise that He made with you, He’s going to raise you up and as you’re going forth, when you face the enemy before you, you will know who you are and you’ll be able to say, “But you enemy, you Goliath, you liar, you devil, you uncircumcised, non-covenantal god, you cannot take the covenant that I’ve entered into with God, because I know who I am. I know I’m circumcised, and you are going down, because God is establishing His covenant with me.” The word “establish” in the Hebrew is the word qum, which means “to rise.” You will rise in your faith and position in confidence to go forth because you know who you are in Him.

When God says, “I’m going to establish a covenant,” God is saying, “I’m going to go before you. My name will go before you.” The circumcision to the Israelites was their identity (Gen. 17:10). That’s what set them apart from every other tribe on the planet. As believers in Jesus, we are set apart as circumcised members of the kingdom, which means we have a power that every other god and enemy on the planet does not have.

We will be challenged just as David was challenged in his identity as the anointed and appointed one of God to be the King. David knew who he was. He had the oil poured over his head. He had exercised in his environment the fighting of the lion and the bear. So, all along he was equipping himself. We should be equipping ourselves as we are fighting lions and bears with the Word of God, and with worship, prayer, fasting and the spiritual disciplines.

One day, your challenge for identity and the covenant promise God made with you will come, and when it’s your time as the anointed and appointed one to step into the position where God can establish His covenant, God will be there. When you pull out those five small stones, you’re going to knock that devil in the head without any trouble at all. The supernatural will come and do it for you because it’s all by faith.

God said, “I’ve already established my covenant with you.” That thing is going down. It’s uncircumcised. It has not been set apart by a covenant with God Himself. You who are the circumcised ones in your hearts have all the power: Now step into place right now. Ezekiel 36:26-28 says, “I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. You will dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers. And you will be My people, and I will be your God.”

You must realize if God is saying, “I’m going to establish covenant with you” that He is also asking, “Are you prepared to fight Goliath with the Word of God and all of the preparation that you’ve done behind the scenes where nobody saw?” All your closet prayers, all your tears, all the trials you faced in the early years with God by your side. All that preparation is now about to become fulfillment.

You are filled with the power of God, so pick up your five small stones and sling them. They’re going to hit the devil in the head and he’s going to be laid out. Why? He’s uncircumcised and you’re not. You’re part of the circumcised family of God. That’s your identity.

This should be your mindset. When God says, “I’m going to establish covenant with you in 5780,” He’s saying, “I’m expecting you to stand up and be who I’ve called you to be. I’m expecting you to know your identity as a circumcised citizen of the kingdom and stop bowing down to the Goliath who’s coming to steal the covenant I’ve established with you. I’m expecting you to stand up and to fight for the kingdom, and to go forward and do what it is I’m calling you to do. I’m expecting you to repent. I’m expecting you to leave that sin. I’m expecting you to get yourself up every single time the devil knocks you down and keep on going. I’m expecting this of you.”

Why? Because you’re circumcised in your heart. So, the only way the giant’s going down is if you live by faith in knowing that it is God Himself who establishes the covenant. If God says He wants something done, it’s going to get done. If God says He wants a victory in this area, there’s going to be a victory. God says it’s His covenant. God will bring it to pass when you are faithful to live by faith. He is always faithful, and He is not a man that He should lie. Everything to Him is yes and amen; it’s go forward, it’s abundance, it’s increase and it’s multiplication.

You serve a good, good Father. You serve one who knows your pain, knows your brokenness and will not break a broken reed. He will not stab you when you’re down. He’ll lift a hand to you, and He’ll lift you up, He’ll look you in the eyes and He’ll say, “It’s OK, son. It’s OK, daughter, put it on. You just forgot who you are. The circumcision in me took care of it. Get yourself dressed and let’s go establish the covenant promise in 5780.”

This is going to be a dynamite year of establishing covenant promises, all because God has given us the power to stand up and fight the uncircumcised Philistines in our lives. {eoa}
