A Call to Prayer for the Middle East

cindyjacobsLike you,
I am greatly distressed about the situation in the Middle East. Below is a word
to the Christians in the Middle East and the worldwide church, along with a
prayer guide for Egypt and the Middle East.

There are
certain things that I have not written to all, but I believe that the Muslim
Brotherhood is behind much of this, or at least taking advantage of it. As you
may know, Mubarak just announced today that he will not seek re-election. We
must continue to pray for stability in Egypt, for a peaceful transition that
will not result in leadership by the Muslim Brotherhood and Sharia law.

Pray for
Jordan as well, that the people will stand with the king and that this unrest
across the Middle East will not result in an Islamic Caliphate being

Below are
also several articles along with a video link that will bring further insight
regarding the seriousness of what’s happening in Egypt and the goals of the
Muslim Brotherhood.

join us in fasting and prayer during this most critical time.

As you are
aware, this is one of the most critical and serious times for believers across
the Middle East in recent memory. As a prophet, I have been seeking the Lord
for a prophetic word concerning the situation in Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia,
Yemen, and other parts of the Arabic-speaking world as well as those greatly
influenced by Islamic teaching.

Also, in
looking back at the prophetic word for 2011 issued by the Apostolic Council of
Prophetic Elders, I read the warning we issued that said that Satan would try
and start another third world war. One of his purposes was to stop the new
missionary movements taking place across the face of the earth.

I believe
we are at that tipping point at this moment where the situation in Egypt could
de-stabilize the region to such a degree that just such a scenario would take
place. Of course, new regimes could be put in place that would cause
Iranian-type oppressions of believers.

This is
why I am calling for the Body of Christ around the world, and particularly the
Arabic-speaking community to participate in a season of prayer and fasting
beginning as soon as you receive this letter.

Many may
want to even have such a severe fast as an “Esther fast.” Others can
fast as their health allows. If you are able to do an n Esther fast, I am
suggesting for a three day time period.

Further, I
feel like I am hearing from the Lord that what Satan has meant for evil, God
will turn for good if the church across the Middle East will put aside their
doctrinal and denominational differences and come together in unity to pray.
The walls of division must fall if the Christian community is going to be

things seem quite dire, if the church will fast and pray together as one, the
turmoil will die down and God will protect the world from a terrible war.

On a
redemptive note, I see a generation of young leaders arising out of the church
who are anointed to preach the gospel and see a great harvest of souls all
across the Middle East, as well as North Africa, Central Asia, Malaysia, and

Messianic Rabbi: He That Has an Eye, Let Him Hear

Messianic Rabbi: He That Has an Eye, Let Him Hear

It is interesting that, as a Messianic rabbi the question I am asked most often by Christians is if I believe that they as Christians have to celebrate, or observe, the biblical Holy Days. They are usually asking about those days listed in Leviticus 23: Shabbat, Yom...

How the Holy Spirit Is Preparing America

How the Holy Spirit Is Preparing America

As the crackdown against Christianity in America grows, it is a cycle believers have seen before. While no one celebrates their religious freedom coming under attack, God has used this persecution to great effect throughout history. Over the centuries, there have been...

God’s Holy Interruption Is Coming Soon

God’s Holy Interruption Is Coming Soon

This past weekend I preached at The Roads Church, a charismatic congregation located in the tiny town of Norris City, Illinois. Located amid cornfields, the population is only 1,325, but almost that many people visit the church on weekends. They come from all over...

The Biblical Way to Rise Above Mediocre Expectations

The Biblical Way to Rise Above Mediocre Expectations

We spend a lot of life figuring out if we “measure up,” a phrase someone coined in the mid-1800s. Even in childhood, we begin comparing ourselves with siblings and kids at school, and it never seems to stop. The problem goes back to Cain and Abel, doesn’t it? Most of...

Why Does God Want Us to Speak with Tongues?

Why Does God Want Us to Speak with Tongues?

Why speak with tongues? There are many reasons for speaking in a spiritual language. Primarily, though, the Scriptures require it. The apostle Paul commanded us, saying, “Pray in the Spirit always” (Eph. 6:18). Jude commanded it in verse 20, saying, “Pray in the Holy...

Why God’s Rebuilding is Better Than His Restoration

Why God’s Rebuilding is Better Than His Restoration

Often, I have prayed for the Lord to restore something in my life. Whenever I have gone through a hard season or a broken relationship, my prayers automatically petition the Lord to restore my situation. Whenever there is a loss, and you are going through the grieving...

Why America Must Adopt the Battle Cry of Isaiah

Why America Must Adopt the Battle Cry of Isaiah

A battle cry is used to summon armies to war. A loud, unified shout could intimidate the strongest of enemies. Confidence in battle often tilts the scale toward victory, whereas timidity, fear and cowardliness will surely lead to defeat. In these dreadful times, don’t...
