The Lord has really been emphasizing the alignment of generations to me recently. I’ve had more than a dozen dreams in recent weeks that have had to do with generations and generational blessing.
I have sensed a weight and depth to this revelation that is unusual and difficult to describe, which I believe speaks of its importance. In light of this, I encourage you to read prayerfully through the following word.
Healing Generational Sexual Trauma
Several weeks ago I shared how the Lord first began speaking to me about moving to heal individuals and families that have been shattered by sexual molestation or rape within households. He directed me to the story of Tamar, which is found in 2 Samuel 13, and when I asked the Lord why He directed me there, He showed me that a divine window of opportunity exists to press in for healing from sexual trauma experienced within families. He is also moving to heal relationships that have been fractured by this, releasing new levels of compassion and grace for forgiveness.
He also showed me He is moving to break generational curses that have continued to persist. If you’re like me, the Lord has already broken and delivered my family and I from a multitude of generational issues, and while I’m glad some of the baggage has been dealt with, it seems like a few elements still linger on. He wants to both break the lingering effects of generational curses that are pressing down on you, as well as enhance and restore the generational blessing for which your family was intended.
Alignment for Blessing
But even after releasing this revelation, the dreams regarding generations continued to persist. I dreamed of things like rekindling relationships with cousins I had once been close to and no longer have any contact with and family members from both my side of the family and my husband’s coming together in a place of spiritual blessing and peace. I had other dreams detailing generational mantles and tendencies.
One night after having still more of these dreams, I asked the Lord, “What is it that I’m missing? What are You doing in the generations that I have not yet understood—what are You trying to communicate to me?”
Then I fell back to sleep and had another dream. I saw my husband (who was a contractor for many years) and another gentleman snapping out a chalk line. If you’re not familiar with a chalk line, or chalk box, it’s a tool for marking long, straight lines on relatively flat surfaces, much farther than is practical by hand or with a straightedge. It is used to lay out straight lines between two points or vertical lines by using the weight of the line reel as a plumb line. I then heard, “He wants to line up the generations for generational blessing. He wants to bring the generations together.”
Exodus 20:5-6 tells us that the Lord God is a jealous God, “visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of them who hate Me, 6 and showing lovingkindness to thousands of them who love Me and keep My commandments.”
Wow—that is difficult to comprehend! The Lord wants to pour out generational blessings through you for as much as a thousand generations! (See also Deut. 7:9.)
A Deep Work
As I continued to pray into this, Ephesians 1:10 (NKJV) came to mind. It reads: “That in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.”
Friends, we have entered into the era of “the fullness of the times.” I sense the Lord saying, there is “a deep work He wants to do in you.” I heard the Spirit of the Lord say, “America—God wants to do a deep work in you!” Then I saw people fasting and earnestly seeking the Lord in response to this.
God blessed Abram so that through him all generations (families) of the earth might be blessed (Gen. 12:3). He wants to bless you for a similar reason; through you—He wants to bless America.
The final thing I saw was fascinating. As this deep work is accomplished, I saw Him set you up for full impact. I saw people falling in line with what God was doing, causing doors of destiny to open for you. It’s like what God is doing is too big for them not to.
P.S.—Anything’s Possible!
This is where the word originally ended. But I had a sense to take my time—not to rush it—so I left the word overnight, as I knew it was important to get it right. And I had yet another dream.
In this dream I offered to pray over a young woman who was barren. I asked if I could put my hand on her stomach and pray. “Don’t worry if you don’t conceive right away,” I said. “We’ll just keep praying—a second time, a third time—whatever it takes. Because … We’ve entered a time where anything’s possible.”
And then, still in the dream, I began to share with her and others present everything I had already written above (the previous day), all the stuff about the alignment of generations and even the Scripture from Exodus 20.
Friends, that’s confirmation that it is time to seek the Lord for the alignment of generations—the place of full impact—the place where anything’s possible! {eoa}
