How You Can Release Prophetic Anointing at any Time

Today the Holy Spirit in all His fullness is being sent forth into the entire world as believers who are filled with His Spirit release His prophetic anointing, bringing impact and influence everywhere they go.

Jesus dispatched His disciples to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:19a) carrying the light of the world.

Great Diversity of Prophetic Anointing

I cannot emphasize enough how big God is.

We see an almost bewildering variety of gifts, anointings, ministries and combinations across the body of Christ.

Yet even with such diversity, everything is under the governance of the same Lord: “There are various gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. There are various operations, but it is the same God who operates all of them in all people” (1 Cor. 12:4-6).

What is an anointing, anyway?

I define an anointing as the supernatural “enablement,” grace and manifest presence of the Holy Spirit operating upon or through an individual or group to produce the works of Jesus.

Such a supernatural enablement or grace brings the presence of the Holy Spirit to bear upon countless situations.

Energized by the same God and Father, prophetic believers bring forth a wide variety of gifts, ministries and effects—always under the direction of the Spirit of the Lord God.

The way the Holy Spirit manifests Himself will look different in its expression from culture to culture, race to race, country to country and from one denomination to another. That is to be expected—and celebrated!

We have a great big God who can reach into all of the hidden places, public and private, with His love and power.

Our part is to collaborate with Him.

We hold on to the Lord Jesus, who was anointed by His Father God, as we operate under His anointing.

With Him, we continue His works: “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).

“The anointing” is not some big, unattainable entity. It is something more like a Play-Doh factory—at least that is the way I have come to see it.

Regardless of the kind of person you are and whatever tools God has hidden within you, He can mold and shape you for His divine purposes.

You just have to make yourself available to Him and stay malleable.

You see, as long as everything you do points back to Jesus and encourages others, you do not have to get tied up in trying to figure out which prophetic “category” you fall into. In all likelihood, it will keep changing anyway.

The prophetic is just not as narrow of a track as I used to think it was.

We’re finally moving away from the idea that the prophetic is about platform. Rather, it is about stewardship of what God has given each one of us.

Some of us have been placed in the church to minister mostly to the rest of the body of Christ. Others have been anointed as “sent ones” to reach into the secular community outside the church.

Carrying the Prophetic Everywhere

In the past few years, I have been prophesying and teaching about “kingdom consultants” or “prophetic solutionists”—prophetic men and women whose ministry is not confined to the “church mountain,” but rather, extends into a wide variety of secular settings. Their expertise and sensitivity to the Spirit enable them to advise, influence and effect change (sometimes at high levels) in government, economy, education, media and more.

These anointed men and women of God are part of the church but not stuck there.

God gives them moments of prophetic revelation that can be turned into movements of prophetic reformation.

They are kingdom administrators, shedding the powerful light of God into dark places that up to that time have been devoid of kingdom influence.

They possess keen insight and they develop inspired strategies that make true kingdom-oriented reformation possible in places that may never have uttered the name of Jesus.

They are walking in the footsteps of the great ones such as Joseph, Daniel, Esther, Ezra and Nehemiah.

They find themselves in situations not of their own choosing, but they recognize that they have been positioned by God “for such a time as this” (Esth. 4:14).

Like Queen Esther, they take it upon themselves to surrender to God’s guidance and come up with radical solutions, sometimes sticking their necks out and taking big risks.

Kingdom consultants do not have to be queens, priests or rulers themselves. In a way, God calls all of us to be kingdom consultants, if we take the Great Commission seriously (see Matt. 28:18-20).

Where Are You Called?

As you proceed through your life, relating to people in your workplace or sphere of influence, you are called to spread kingdom influence.

The only way you can do it is with the King’s assistance. You are a conduit of His love and power.

Over time, God can use you to bring urgently needed changes to the world outside of the church.

As a vessel of the prophetic anointing, you are called to release the revelation God gives you to allow God’s presence to make an impact wherever things would otherwise remain isolated from Him.

As a prophetic individual, just make yourself available to God and stay flexible.

You never know when God will use your words to bring kingdom influence—one day you might discover it was a whole lot more than you realized!

It’s time to release your prophetic anointing everywhere you go! {eoa}
