Answering Your Call to Courage and Honor

James W. Goll

Today, across the globe and right in our own backyards, there are enemies on the rampage, tearing apart society at every corner. It’s time to rise up in courage and honor, and face down the intimidation.

Scripture gives us a strong admonition found in 2 Timothy 1:7, For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and self-control.”

Instead of the word “fear,” it could be better translated as “cowardice.”

It is time for you to throw off that dreary spirit of cowardice and intimidation and arise in boldness to be all that you can be in Christ Jesus!

It’s a Call to Courage

My late wife, Michal Ann Goll, and I founded the Women on the Frontlines conference movement, and after her death, I transferred this ministry into the capable hands of Patricia King.

In Michal Ann’s inaugural book, Women on the Frontlines: A Call to Courage, she issued a clarion call that still needs answering today.

We live in an age that is sorely lacking in heroes. Think about it. Who can we look at today and regard as a hero?

Certainly there are some, but they sure are hard to find!

Isaiah the prophet said that when a people comes under judgment, God takes away wise leadership from the land—the hero, warrior, judge, prophet, elders and others (see Isaiah 3:1-4, NIV).

During a time of restoration the Lord restores the Land.

We are now entering a time of restoration, and the Lord is calling us to be heroes. He is preparing us for a time soon to come when the world will cry out for leaders who are in touch with the heart and the mind of God.”

Scripture tells the rather intense story of the life of Deborah the deliverer (see Judges 4-5).

Deborah was a prophetess, a judge, a wife, a warrior and a worshipper of her God and ultimate King.

Deborah brought healing, deliverance and restoration to her land. She changed the justice system, and she brought trade and commerce back to her people.

She and Barak joined together in the infamous battle against Sisera and won!

Right in the midst of her story, you find this verse:

Judges 5:2 says, “When the leaders in Israel lead, when the people freely volunteer, bless the Lord!”

It’s time to arise and carry Deborah’s heart and anointing!

But to do so, you must hold close to your heart the teachings of Zechariah 7:9-10 (AMP) which says, “Thus has the Lord of hosts said, ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion, to each other; and do not oppress or exploit the widow or the fatherless, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise or even imagine evil in your hearts against one another.'”

As a male spiritual leader, I have something to say to you mighty women of God!

We cannot afford for you to be fearful “little women” in your own eyes or anyone else’s eyes! It is time for you to arise in courage!

You must arise like Deborah of old and pick up your warrior’s mantle for such a time as this. We need you! We need men and women to partner together out the place of security in Christ Jesus and declare a “No Competition Zone!”

The Time for Honor Has Come!

It’s time for men and women to join together and provide real leadership and justice like Deborah and Barak!

As a male spiritual leader in the global prayer and prophetic movement, I say to you, “Arise!”

We can do today what Deborah did in Israel’s history!

Change society. Usher in the next Great Awakening. Declare boldly, “The time of the harvest has begun!”

Let’s bring revival and restoration to the land. How?

As we approach the season of Mother’s and Father’s Day, let’s always remember the first commandment with a promise. Let’s restore and walk in a culture of honor where we really are each other’s best cheerleader.

After all, together, in Jesus, we make a great team.
