Marital infidelity ranks extremely high on the scale of devastating life experiences. But it isn’t the only relationship in which we can find our trust in people betrayed.

In Battlefield of the Mind, author Joyce Meyer writes that in following the example of Jesus, we should “trust God completely and man discreetly.” Our trust in people, unlike our trust in God, must be tempered with the knowledge that we are all subject to disappoint one another.

HEART ISSUE: When devastated by hurt, what is the only reasonable action for the child of God?
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, we agree with the testimony of Your Word and Your Spirit that it is right, good and pleasing to bestow mercy and forgiveness to those who have hurt us. Help us to guard our hearts and not enter into judgment or bitterness. Thank You for Your mighty strength and enabling power to obey You in all things. Amen.
