Walking In The Light

JENNIFER ROTHSCHILD’S LIFE BEARS WITNESS TO GOD’S DESIRE FOR EVERY WOMAN TO BE AN OVERCOMER.

From the outside, the Rothschild residence seems to be the quintessential middle-class home nestled beneath the shade trees of a typical Midwestern suburb. The freshly cut lawn gently slopes down to the curb on which a bicycle casually rests.

Parked in the driveway is the all-American family-sized utility vehicle awaiting the next trek to the nearby high school soccer field or the local farmers market. Little would anyone imagine that within the traditional brick walls of this home (in the basement study, to be exact) lies the control center for the ministries of Christian author, singer, songwriter and inspirational speaker Jennifer Rothschild.

A Place of Refuge

MISSIONARIES JANE HYATT AND BARBARA KLAIBER STARTED THE ARK, A PLACE KIEV’S STREET KIDS CAN CALL THEIR OWN.

In the Ukrainian city of Kiev, one out of every 20 residents is a homeless child. During the summer, many of these 129,000 children sleep at night under bridges or on the floors of large public restrooms scattered throughout the park overlooking the Dnipro River.

Others break into abandoned buildings, closed markets and darkened basements to scavenge for food and find a place to rest. During the day, these youngsters fill the streets, begging for more food, picking pockets and searching for discarded warm clothing in preparation for winter.

Opening The Window

SEVERAL YEARS AGO BEVERLY PEGUES BEGAN PRAYING FOR THE AREA KNOWN AS THE 10/40 WINDOW. NOW HER BURDEN HAS BECOME A LIFELONG MISSION.

When God called her to be an intercessor, Beverly Pegues’ initial reaction was, “Lord, what is an intercessor?” Little did she know that searching for the answer to this question would lead her, in 1993, to begin overseeing a worldwide network of more than 40 million prayer partners.

Beverly, who coordinates Window International Network, admits: “Not knowing the specific meaning of my calling, I got involved with different prayer groups and began praying with people wherever I could find the opportunity so that I could learn more about being an intercessor. Soon I started praying about everything that I felt wasn’t in the will of God.”
