Advancing Through Battle

johnpauljacksoncroppedAs God’s children, we never have any
reason to fear. If we stay close to Him, that will always be true, no
matter our circumstances. Our Father is good. Our Father is loving.
Our Father is more than we could ever expect. His goodness extends
into all areas of life—including the battles we find ourselves in.

When we are attacked, some of us
prepare for the long haul. We build fortresses and walls and settle
down for a decade-long siege. We do not realize and perhaps aren’t
open to the possibility that there is goodness even here, in the
midst of hardship.

How to Survive the Waiting Game

How to Survive the Waiting Game

john paul jacksonWait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage;
yes, wait for the Lord (Ps. 27:14, NASB).

No matter what God has called us to do, one of the most difficult
things we will face is the in-between time. In the beginning, He
prepares our hearts for the calling. He gives us a glimpse of His
plans for us, and it births great hope within us.

The difficulty is that there is always a time lag between the
initial preparation and the outcome. The beginning often carries a
great emotional surge. We know what God said, and we know
we will see it happen, no matter what the enemy may throw at us in
the process. Our faith is as tall as the mountains. We feel
invincible in God’s promise. We take the initial steps and are
excited to see the fruit of our labors.

The Strength in His Names

God’s names reveal His nature and point us to our inheritance.

Did you know that God has many names? As a matter of fact, He has hundreds. And they are all representative of His awesome character.

  • El-Shaddai: The God Who is Sufficient for the Needs of His People.
  • Jehovah-Shalom: The God of Peace.
