Four Texas abortionists associated with the Whole Women's Health abortion chain are facing disciplinary action based on complaints filed by Operation Rescue.

The Texas Medical Board notified Operation Rescue President Troy Newman that William Watkins West Jr., Robert E. Hanson Jr., Pedro J. Kowalyszyn and Sherwood C. Lynn will appear before an Informal Settlement Conference/Show Compliance hearing on Oct. 28 to determine what, if any, disciplinary action should be taken against them.

They join five other Texas abortionists who are also facing disciplinary action based on Operation Rescue complaints.

stevesixAs the Senate Judiciary Committee was set to vote on President Obama's nomination of Steve Six to the Federal Appeal Court on Thursday, committee chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT) issued a statement that the nomination would not be considered by the committee.

That move essentially scuttled Six's nomination.

Operation Rescue was the first to express opposition to Six's nomination, noting his interference in abortion investigations and his efforts to gag a District Court judge and bury incriminating evidence against Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri, which faces 107 criminal charges. On June 27, Operation Rescue called on Obama to withdraw Six's nomination.

"Six repeatedly allowed his personal and political biases to influence his professional judgment, and that alone makes him unfit for the Federal Appeals Court," says Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "Today we are celebrating this victory for the cause of justice."

A woman who claimed to be a supporter of abortion violently attacked peaceful pro-life protesters yesterday outside Southwestern Women's Options, a late-term abortion clinic in Albuquerque, N.M., inflicting wounds that left one protester bloody.

The woman was angry and told the pro-lifers that she had once had an abortion. She then began to viciously punch and kick Bud Shaver, a former Operation Rescue intern, and a woman named Chris. She used keys as a weapon, inflicting a deep gash on Shaver's head that paramedics said required stitches.

Shaver, who works with Project Defend Life, began videotaping after the attack began, but images he captured show an angry and violent flurry of punches and kicks as the pro-lifers threw up their arms in a defensive posture.

The father-daughter abortionist team of Herbert Hodes and Traci Nauser filed suit in Federal Court on Tuesday to block the implementation of a new Kansas abortion clinic safety law that requires offices that supply five or more abortions per month to pass inspections and become licensed by the state.

The abortionists have cancelled a scheduled inspection of their Center for Women's Health abortion clinic in Overland Park, Kan., and are seeking a temporary restraining order to block implementation of the new law. No hearing date had been set as of this writing.

The federal magistrate assigned to the case is K. Gary Sebelius, the husband of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who is also the former governor of Kansas. While governor, Sebelius vetoed similar clinic safety bills on at least three occasions.

"We were shocked to learn that Mr. Sebelius could have anything to do with this case. His wife's administration worked actively to shield abortionists from any accountability under the law. We call on Mr. Sebelius to immediately recues himself," says Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

abortion-lifetape croppedA second Whole Women's Health abortion clinic was illegally dumping the remains of aborted babies, this time at their clinic in Austin, according to The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Whole Women's Health is being charged with "failure to prevent the disposal of treated fetuses at a municipal solid waste landfill" and "failure to ensure that the labels placed on each medical waste container show the weight of the container."

"Due to the apparent seriousness of the alleged violations, a formal enforcement action has been initiated," stated a TCEQ Investigation Report dated June 3, 2011.
